The presses, the sewing frame and the guillotine are in one room on Bahnhofstrasse. Pens and metalwork are turned by two workshops we have used since 2004, both within an hour by train.

Answers to the six things people write in about
Which size fits in a jacket pocket?
Item 02, the Pocket Trio, is A6 — 105 × 148 mm and 6 mm thick. It sits flat in an inside pocket. Item 01 at A5 (148 × 210 mm) does not; it is a bag notebook.
How many pages, and will fountain-pen ink go through?
192 pages, 96 leaves, in 12 sewn signatures. The paper is 120 gsm and sized: a medium nib with standard ink shows no bleed and only a faint ghost on the reverse.
What is in the box?
The item, a numbered paper band, a folded specification card and nothing else. No plastic, no tissue, no printed thank-you. Pens arrive with one cartridge and a converter.
When does a sold-out item come back?
Item 06 returns on 14 April. The date on the card is the date the batch leaves the workshop, not an estimate. Write to us and we hold one from that batch for 7 days.
Can I buy refills separately?
Yes. Rollerball refills are CHF 6.00 each, 0.5 mm leads CHF 4.00 a tube, ink CHF 18.00 for 50 ml. They are not listed in the twelve; ask in your order note or by email.
Do you engrave or personalise?
We blind-deboss up to 18 characters on items 01 to 04, in the same grotesque as the catalogue, for CHF 12.00. It takes one extra week and the item can no longer be returned.
